Robert McMahon grew up in Rhode Island and graduated from the University of Notre Dame. After thirteen years working as an illustrator in New York City, primarily in black & white, he turned to painting. His work has been exhibited in galleries from Connecticut to California.

Robert won a Screenplay Discovery award from the Hollywood Film Festival in 2002.

He currently divides his time between Narragansett, Rhode Island and his studio in Brooklyn, New York.
