At least since Roman times: in the year 1670, a contractor digging the basement for a house in Mark-Lane, London, came across an old underground Roman-era vault beneath the pavement. The entire three columns repeat unchallenged his own claims, including the lie that “any criticism of Israel is regarded as anti-Semitism”.
As this and many other arguments have been disproven it would seem the reviewer didn’t actually read the book, preferring instead to write a fawning mini-biography of an author who doesn’t even know how to use apostrophes..
So many mini-Hitler’s (sic) in the world, so little time.
A recent fisking, appears here and it’s a shame Clark didn’t see it (or ignored it). Naturally Loewenstein will ignore all of it as it appears on AIJAC’s website and therefore can only possibly be nasty meanies bullying him instead of substantial legitimate criticism of a shoddy piece of scholarship.
Anti- Semitism increases when commentators, including people like Loewenstein et al, advocate that Jew-hatred is a consequence of the actions of Zionists and Israeli policy. These idiots are ignorant of history which clearly demonstrates that venomous Jew hatred existed centuries before the Holocaust and hundreds of years before the creation of the Jewish homeland in 1948. According to their thesis Jews died in the Holocaust because of their own actions (nothing to do with Nazis at all).
Meanwhile naive people read this crap and believe that hating Jews is OK because—after all they deserve it.
Israel is the only nation on earth which is not permitted to defend its boundaries.
By the way, if anyone is interested—according to Bookscan, the figures for Loewenstein’s My Israel Question for the first month were 2, 498. This figure does not cover publishing costs for MUP and it is certainly not a “bestseller” as its author claims. A bestseller in this genre would be in the 10, 000 range.
Loewenstein, can however, pat himself on the back for his contribution to Jew hatred and for attacking the Jewish lobby—which works very hard to promote a fair go for Israel and its inhabitants. On ya Loewy—you prick. Guess you would have been a Nazi, if only you coulda!
