DISPATCHING OPPOSED

Mexico’s Francisco Martín Moreno finds reason to oppose those who wish Barack Obama assassinated:

A violent dispatching of Obama would leave the road to the White House paved for McCain, with Mexico and the rest of the world having to deal with four more years of Republican nightmare ...

It wouldn’t be too good for Obama, either.

  1. It wouldn’t be too good for Obama, either.

A point that the Omabamaniacs blissfully ignore while vocalizing this fantasy of theirs.

OTOH, I just have to savor the irony that these cretins are fantasizing as hard for The Messiah™‘s assassination as they are for that of Bush.

    Cognitive dissonance, indeed.

This poor fella hasn’t a clue about McCain’s immigration policies.  Just more reflex vacuousness from a lefty.

  4. From Tim’s link: “One of the most disturbing questions that Barack Obama’s candidacy raises is this: What if he were murdered?”

Actually, one of the most disturbing questions is, why is it that lefties are the ones who seem to be obsessed with this possibility?

From Moreno: “There’s no reason to kill a McCain - not for his skin color, nor for his political career, nor for his personal name, and it’s impossible to associate him with the Muslims that arouse sop much prejudice in post-Sept. 11 America”.

Moreno is a writer for a Mexican newspaper, and he has penned an article that is so chock-full of ignorance and prejudice that he could pass himself off as a Berkeley city councilman, with no questions asked. BTW, as Dan Riehl pointed out on his blog, the “Moderate Voice”, where Moreno’s article is posted, is anything but.

  10. I find this whole Obama assassination refrain on the part of his so-called “supporters” just bizarre in the extreme.  Two things:  They’re either hoping he’ll be murdered, so that they can have a martyr to beat everybody over the head with, or:

they were expecting the right to threaten assassination and, disappointed that the threat didn’t materialize, feel obligated to supply it themselves in order to continue the favored narrative of victimization.

Either way, it’s pathetic and pretty damned strange.

  13. #10 Rebecca,

Probably a little of both, plus another factor.

Some of Obama’s most emotional supporters regard him as a Christ figure who can redeem his country – and the world. They’re fools, of course. He’s just a politician. But his death will validate their new religion, so they dwell on it with disturbing fervor.

In their religion, Obama is too good for this corrupt world. His death at the hands of villains like Rumsfeld, Cheney, and Bush will prove it. Idiotic, sure. But after all, they’re Democrats.

  18. In a country where the Ku Klux Klan even now demands White supremacy, promotes anti-Semitism, anti-Catholicism, racism and homophobia;

Yes, because a small, fringe group believes this the country is racist.  On the other hand, muslim countries where anti-simitism, anti-christianism (including catholics, naturally), sexism and homophobia take the form of executions, that’s OK, because they are all Bush’s victims.

It is telling that in order to bolster his claims of a racist country he has to go back   to the 60’s.  Does racism exist in the US?  Certainly, but so it does in Mexico as well.  And all things considered, this racism can hardly be crippling, considering the millions of supposedly discriminated-against cross the border because they’d rather live here that in their racism free utopia.  Please!

As long as they keep people believing that the all the problems in Mexico are the US’s fault, they don’t have to bother fixing their own problems.

  19. And mind you I grew up in Mexico and love both the country and it’s people.  But I get frustrated at their inability and/or unwillingness to do anything for themselves, and instead whine and spew hatred about the US while holding out their hand for economic help from the US.

  20. Also, and then I’ll stop, if I were Obama, I’d be feeling pretty nervous about this rhetoric coming from his “supporters”: it almost sounds like they are hoping for his assassination, just so they can prove that the US is a rats-nest of racism.

  26. Why don’t you guys just accept the truth that a black man is far more likely to be shot dead in the U.S. than a white man (or man/woman in Hillary’s case).

Just because it is far more likely that they will be shot by another black man doesn’t mean its not racially motivated.

  27. #26 “a black man is far more likely to be shot dead in the U.S. than a white man”

yeah, sure…when they’re living in the high crime hotspots. And statistically they’ll be shot by another black man.
However, you’ve missed a couple of facts.
    Obama
    1) isn’t poor,
    2) isn’t african-american, and
    3) doesn’t live in downtown Detroit, Philadelphia, New Orleans, or Memphis.

so lets stop this sentimentalist drivel.

  29. Why don’t you guys just accept the truth that a black man is far more likely to be shot dead in the U.S. than a white man (or man/woman in Hillary’s case).

rob, I can’t tell if you are tongue-in-cheek, or serious, but in case you are serious (with my abject apologies if you are not), you are partially mistaken :

Black victims are over represented in homicides involving drugs. Compared with the overall involvement of blacks as victims, blacks are less often the victims of sex-related homicides, workplace killings, and homicide by poison.

So while you are correct that black Americans are more likely to be murdered than white Americans, the reason for the difference (i.e., drugs) works against your statement.

So unless The Messiah™ gets wasted during a drug deal gone bad (which, I am sure that you will agree, is unlikely in the extreme), that argument doesn’t fly.  In point of fact, an assassination of a black American would be the exception, not the rule.

I also argue that the race of the theoretical assassin can’t extrapolated from these data, because such an event is statistically unusual.

The two assassinations of prominent black Americans that I can recall amount to a dead heat; Malcolm X was assassinated by other black Americans (hmmmm…..from the Nation of Islam!), and Martin Luther King by a white American

Besides which, why should we accept this “truth”?  Government by assassination is not repeat underscore italicize emphasize NOT the way America runs, no matter what leftards and anti-Americans might think.  We prefer an orderly succession of government, thankyouverymuch.  Not a constant presidential turn over by small arms.

  30. One point of clarification to rob w.

I am assuming that the base motivations of murders involving drugs and political assassinations are not the same.  If you disagree, I am interested in hearing just how that might be the case.

  31. #29 rob, I can’t tell if you are tongue-in-cheek, or serious, but in case you are serious (with my abject apologies if you are not), you are partially mistaken :

It was meant to be tongue-in-cheek, but perhaps something went wrong when I produsaged the post.

My point, I guess, was* why has their been so much assclownage theorising americans are racist because some loon can imagine a white guy shooting Obama?

Whilst I accept that guns don’t kill people, bullets do.
The bullets that kill a black man are more likely to be loaded and fired by a black man than a white man.

*Then again I guess It depends on what the meaning of the word ‘was’ was.
