EMPLOYMENT NEWS

New job for me: opinion editor at the Daily Telegraph. Column will appear Saturdays. Blog will appear here, daily, as usual.

UPDATE. Aside from a year or so as the Bulletin’s news editor, I’ve mostly been a freelancer during the life of this site—which wouldn’t have survived without reader support and contributions. Thank you for that, and thank you for all today’s friendly comments. Especially, thanks to site czar Andrea for running the place; drop by her site and send some cash.

I didn’t want you to get the Fairfax gig. I know some would have been amused, though you would have been swamped by a sea of stupidity, it would take 5 of you to balance Adele Horin’s foolishness alone.

Once Miranda recovers from her fit, and we can safely extract the pencil from her mouth, I’m sure you’ll be getting felicitations from her, too. Right now, she’s merely curled up in a fetal position, pounding her head on the floor, spluttering words randomly through the froth: “Blogsheep!...Iraq! ...grrrrrr!...Howard!...Blogomeister! . . .Waaaahhhh!”

  29. Congratulations Tim.  Now I’ll have to begin visiting the Daily Telegraph.  I haven’t visited The Bulletin since you left there.

I must say I’m impressed with the DT for persuading you to come work there.  I’m hopeful that MSM are beginning to understand that their readership or viewership are decreasing precipitously due to a general perception that they are subjective liberal mouthpieces.  Hiring conservatives such as you helps, at least somewhat, in dealing with this problem.

But they still have a long way to go.

Yeah Tim - be kind to Joe Hildebrand.

Feel free to take a stick to Paul Kent who reckons we GW sceptics are “flat earthers”. True, Paul is a convert to global warmening scary talk. Alarming to see this sillinesss in The Tele really.

  50. I wonder if an opinion editor is the same as the editor of the opinion page.  Or is it a lofty title bestowed on very respected persons who write a column for the newspaper.

I think Mark Steyn was named an editor for some publications.  I’d put you in the same category as Mark.  I fully expect to see you mass syndicated in 5 years time earning bushel baskets* of dollars.  I bet you won’t remember us then.

Western Union doesn’t even use the telegraph anymore, do they?

Well, congratulations, anyway. But I think you should go with this newfangled Internet thingy, and forget that 19th century technology.
