  1. Environment Canada is also calling for normal temperatures through March, April and May.

The good news is that Gore will not be visiting Canada in the months of March, April or May.

  2. Today’s weather will be cold, but there is the promise of spring around the corner.

Still waiting for global warming to kick in eh!

  3. Normal temperatures, huh?  Crap.  More sleety, drizzly, unpredictable weather interspersed with just enough warm, sunny days to torture us.  Thanks heaps.

Canada must not be on The Goracle’s itinerary this Spring.

  6. I call for normal sea levels through March, April and May!

And as long as I’m calling, I also call for normal rain, drought, tornados, floods, fires,  non advancing and non retreating glaciers, trees, animal species ...

Did I miss something? Ah, yes, I call for no more GlobAL GOREming.

    Ever.

  7. If you thought February was particularly cold, you were fucking wrong.

March in Monreal has been the coldest fucking month in the entire history of the entire fucking planet.

-20°C at 2 o’clock in the arvo?  Fair crack of the whip, mate! It’s the fucking 8th of March.

  10. I’ll vouch for Jack’s assessment of this winter.

If we can cite the “law of averages” in predicting climate, doesn’t the whole gloebbel warming thing go up in smoke? I want hard predictions based on battle tested postulates and proven laws. The debate is over so I am sure they have these handy. Resorting to fudging about with averages almost sounds as if they don’t have a clue about what the weather is going to be the next couple months.

They wouldn’t demand hundreds of billions, or even trillions of dollars from us without such proof, would they?

Alas, moptop, no, as that would be an increase in gloebbel warming’s carbon footprint.

  12. Citing the law of averages when predicting weather is a bit like claiming you know all about engines because you know the average time it takes to for a drag racer to complete a quarter mile. On that basis, you would then be qualified to rebuild the engine, no doubt.

  13. 21% chance of snow March through May in south-central Ontario? Rubbage.

I count on at least one traffic-snarling snowstorm every April. I do not recall the last year I didn’t see one.

Phillips has his finger on the wrong line of figures, or was misquoted. Early April can regularly be as snowy as January in this part of the world.

I call for Punxsutawney Phil to be unceremoniously tossed into the nearest volcano along with the virgin, at the next “call for normal temperatures” sacrificial meeting.

  19. Well, those bloody omniscient, omnipotent bureaucrats had better get to Ottawa darned quick, ‘cos it’s already March 8 and the temp hasn’t gone abopve zero for a long time.

Tonight, -24C and then wind chill. March isn’t normall like this.

Oh, wait, they’re based in ottawa. How can they spew this garbage?

  21. #12 Except in geographical areas with very variable weather, a prognostication (oooh) of weather tomorrow being like that of today is about 66% accurate.

In the UK, the weather-meisters have even overcome this difficulty by predicting tomorrow’s weather to be “sunny periods with scattered showers”.

Desperate and single blog commenter calls for Scarlett Johansson to visit him through March, April and May.
