What was Robert Fisk on about the other day? Some kind of theory that most of the suspects in the London aircraft bombing plot would be released?

I’m sure Independent readers will join me in watching how many of the suspects ... are still in custody in a couple of weeks’ time.

Three more have now been charged.

  1. Lay off the guy. It takes decades to become so effortlessly stupid. We should just sit back and admire someone who’s worked so hard to earn a worldwide reputation for inaccuracy and pompous idiocy.

  2. This is a sincere question:  How in the world do people like Fisk manage to thoroughly and completely ignore reality, shun fact, divorce themselves from truth, etc.???  It is mind-boggling!  Stupidity alone can’t account for it.

  3. No stupidity couldn’t make a Fisk.  But Kant and his spawn could, and have done so.  Fisk lives in a phenomenal world of his own construct. 

    And what an ugly little world it is.

  4. #1: Gary’s got a point. With Fisk we are in the presence of lab quality obtuseness, uncontaminated by even minute quantities of intelligence. As my dad used to say, if he had another six brains he’d have an even half dozen.

  5. This puzzles me too, texasred.
    My few lefty friends are all retired msm journos and though quite intelligent, they are impervious to reality.
    I suspect it might be due to a lifetime of ignoring facts to ‘improve’ the story.

  6. It’s called magical thinking, viewing the world as you wish it were instead of how it really is.  I’ve always been fascinated by people like this.  It’s as if part of their brain is missing.
