LATE SWING

Drama in Wentworth:

Award winning journalist Caroline Overington hurled abuse at Labor candidate for Wentworth George Newhouse before slapping him across the face at a polling station in Sydney’s east, witnesses say.

Whoa! And down in Melbourne, an enraged Labor voter apparently attempted to run down Age reporter John Elder after arguing with Liberal campaign workers.

UPDATE. Slapping denied:

Ms Overington “admitted pushing him away with an open hand when he approached her, later apologised for that and said she regretted there had been any further contact with the candidate”.

  5. So the woman took offense to the Liberal party posters….mmnnn, so tolerant

Well around my way, it was wall to wall Kevin Rudd at the local primary school…who knows what the local Labor candidate actually looks like.

I did have an urge to take my black texta to them, but I resisted.

  8. The amazing thing is that there aren’t more incidents like the poster-ripping unhinged Labor voter (maybe she’d just been to see Tarantino’s Death Proof.)  Still, if John gets another term, expect to see more of this kind of thing, as Howard Derangement Syndrome bites ever deeper.
