LEFT TURN AT ALBUQUERQUE
New Mexico is spending $420,000 to promote peace tourism.
They are only willing to pay $420,000 for peace? I blame all future wars on their lack of proper funding.

The scenery is beautiful and the people are interesting, but the Santa Fe/Taos area is the biggest collection of New Age lefty loons you could ever find outside of California.
Isn’t New Mexico the state where the Democratic governor only won after “mislaid” ballot-boxes where “found” on an Indian reservation, putting him over by a few thousand votes? (Or was that a senatorial race and/or a different state? I seem to recall a Steyn on it.)

Albuquerque like TrainspottingNext, our governor (former US ambassador to the UN and Secretary of Energy) will run for POTUS.
This is getting embarrassing.
I’m sorry, but this gave me the biggest laugh I’ve had all day. What the hell kind of hubris is required for a politician to propose this kind of thing. What is worse, is that it’s a done deal. This is right up there with national pork barrel spending.
They say that in a democracy, you get the government you deserve. We’ve been very, very negligent. At some point, perhaps we’ll remember that these folks who are busily telling us what and how to think - and worse, what not to think - only do so by the grace of our tax money. We’ve given them too much leeway with our money.
