LIVE BY THE BACKPACK ...

In an attempt to break the world irony record, an apparent suicide bomber targets Hamas:

Forces at a Hamas rally earlier in the day found 4 kilograms of TNT in the backpack of a man during a search after he was stopped at the entrance to the gathering, Hamas security spokesman Ihab Ghussein said.

Maybe they’ll build a wall.

  1. Hamas could contract out the wall construction to the Israeli Defense Force; they have a lot of experience in that sort of work.

  2. Hamas leaders always have to wonder when the next Israeli missile will find its target.  Now they have to worry about suicide bombers.  If that isn’t cosmic justice, I don’t know what is.

  3. #1 Speaking of irony, I thought Arafish’s brother was the major supplier of cement for the building of that wonderful wall.

  5. I’m sure he just forgot about the bomb, was probably getting ready to ride a bus in Israel when he heard about the Hamas rally and decided to go and say a last good bye to some friends.

    I mean who hasn’t?

  9. Speaking of poetic justice ...

The whole thing is one giant irony MOAB, but my favorite part has to be:

“We’re not in Cuba. We’re supposed to have free speech,” said Medea Benjamin

Don’t let Oliver Stone hear you say that, hon.

  12. Pray tell, will the BBC, ABC et al describe this bomber as an insurgent?

    Somehow I doubt it.

  13. #12, Penguin, please, the preferred nomenclature is militant.

Anyway, has anyone yet tagged the obvious culprits in this?  You know, the Jooooos?

  14. Anyway, Hamas and Fatah ought to patch over their differences and ally.  They could call the new group HamFat.
