<< CRUEL ICE IN RETREAT ~ MAIN ~ INFLUENTIAL ADAMS >>

MAYBE HE THOUGHT IT WOULD LEAD TO FREE CARS FROM OPRAH

Regrets, he has a few:

Hezbollah chief Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah has said he would not have ordered the capture of two Israeli soldiers if he had known it would lead to such a war.

“Had we known that the kidnapping of the soldiers would have led to this, we would definitely not have done it,” he said in an interview on Lebanese TV.

Which explains why Nasrallah so quickly ordered that the soldiers be returned. Oh, wait …

He’s sayin’ to his Lebanon locals that he didn’t really mean to get all their stuff blowed up.

Lay down Lebanon, it’s all good. Go back to sleep. Daddy Nasrallah didn’t really mean to ream your bunghole in front of all your friends at your party. It was all just a misunderstanding.

  8. O/T, but RoP related, does the @ssholishness of this cult have no end????

From a story about some young muslim girl being condemned for entering a beauty contest and making it to the top 26 contestants of Miss Teen Australia, there’s this comment from Sheik Sh!tforbrains:

A spokesman for Melbourne cleric Sheik Mohammed Omran last week branded the competition, which involves swimsuit parades, as a “slur on Islam”. And Victorian Islamic leader Yasser Soliman said the contest did not conform with the teachings of the Koran.

Well surprise, surprise eh???  Nothing short of a burqa clad parade resembling a meeting of the Ku Klux Klan probably would conform???  Do some of these swine think they can tell us how to run this country now???  Well yes they probably do actually….

    Islamic beauty in pageant row

And as for Narallah, as with so many of these fanatics, its easy to tell when he’s lying coz his lips move…

  10. The Israeli offensive (isnt that spelled “d.e.f.e.n.s.i.v.e.)?, began after two Israeli soldiers were seized during a cross border raid by Hezbollah militants on 12 July.

The eight soldiers that were killed, instead of captured, by the “militants”/Barbarians, don’t seem to warrant any sort of mention in this story.

    More of the same.

    Constant self-abuse, by guilt-ridden Western journo-types.

Does anyone remember during the 1980’s, Wendy’s (a fast food hamburger joint) ran a commercial about a Soviet beauty contest?  All the women were large porcine types wearing drab olive green uniforms.  It was hilarious.  So hilarious the Soviet Union actually filed a protest over it.

Makes me wonder if anyone will run a commercial about a Islamic beauty contest?

You have reminded me of one of my all-time favourite Mark Steyn pieces about a new culturally sensitive Miss World pageant.

I glanced at my watch. “For crying out loud, when are they going to raise the curtain?”
“They have raised the curtain,” said David. “Those are the girls.” I peered closer at the shapeless line of cloth, and he was right: there they all were, from Miss Afghanistan to Miss Zionist Entity.

  16. The Hisbollah were hit harder than most of the media give the Israelis credit for . . . . Nasrallah certainly hasn’t been talking tough.

But don’t worry. The UN force won’t be patrolling the border with Syria, so the Hisbollah will be able to rearm quickly enough.

  18. Re #2 - indeed Dan. That is just video evidence with a few billion witnesses to his admitted guilt. Given he has no authority to wage any war much less one on Lebanon’s behalf - the internationa community along with Lebanon should put a world wide bounty for his head, so can be brought in and charged with treason against the Lebanese people and war crimes against Lebanese and Israeli citizens.

Heh I dream. Here’s hoping the Israelis top him first.

“Had we known that the kidnapping of the soldiers would have led to this, we would definitely not have done it,”

As a person who likes to take people at their word I think the fuzzy bearded one has provided the West with it’s best defence.

Blow the shit out of their miserable fascist arses and they will think twice next time before acting like barbarians.

  21. I know it wouldn’t be easy, in fact almost certainly a suicide mission, but surely the Mossad could send a ‘reporter’ to ‘interview’ mr Nasrallah.

  23. Hmmm…  “If I knew they would fight back, I wouldn’t have kidnapped and tortured two random strangers, as policy.”

Now you know. Stop doing that shit. And cut it out with the rockets and shooting too.  Kidnapping journalists; believe it or not, is ground for war.  Stop it.

  24. “Had we known that the kidnapping of the soldiers would have led to this, we would definitely not have done it,”

The problem is, for deterrence to work, the aggressor has to know that sort of thing before rather than after.  That’s why, despite what some Pollyannas want to believe, the best way to prevent a war is to prepare for one.  And to let your enemy know you’re prepared for one.  Showing weakness or indeciveness is a recipe for war, not peace.

  25. ::ahem::

    Unverifiable speculation to follow:

I still believe that the Mad Mullahs’ scheduled August 22 atomic bomb test failed (or was not close to readiness) and conciliatory language from Tehran would indicate that they are retreating from the precipice somewhat (to buy time, at least) and have ordered their puppet Nasrallah to do the same.

The Israelis were not defeated on the ground, although they did much less damage to the Hezbos than they could have or should have. Hezbollah won a clear political victory and, by trying to sound like rational players, are trying to exploit it while their Iranian masters regroup.

  28. If they were exploiting a victory they would be crowing about it, not apologising. These creatures don’t believe in being gracious in victory and generous in defeat. I suspect Nasrallah is more worried about the Lebs “standing solidly behind Hezbollah” than he is about Israeli assassins. The Lebs might be discovering that 72 virgins in the bush isn’t always worth a pile of rubble in the hand.

  30. From another BBC report:

Later, Hezbollah supporters booed Mr Annan as he toured southern Beirut, a stronghold for the Shia movement which was heavily bombarded during the Israeli offensive.

Which just goes to show if you search hard and long enough, you can find common cause with almost anybody.

  31. Oh Kyda, you just shoved my pithy comment right out of my mind!

I find it interesting that this thug felt it was necessary to say it was all a mistake—because of the way the Israelis reacted of course, but a mistake.  They must be having problems with the Lebanese proles.

On the other hand, I think the fact that they were surprised by the Israeli reaction is an indictment, not just against Israel, but the West in general.  Had the reaction been SOP, the kidnapping of two soldiers, and murder of eight, would never have happened.

  32. Abu kais of From Beirut to the Beltway has posted a summary of Nasrallah’s speech and advises that the media has been very selective in what it has reported. He was actually claiming that Hezbollah saved Lebanon from a dastardly plan by Israel to destroy it.

“The 12 July kidnapping of soldiers, Nasrallah claimed, cost Israel the element of surprise, leading to Israeli failure to destroy Hizbullah. “In October, they were planning to kill people while they slept, with their women and children,” said Nasrallah, who attempted to argue that the kidnapping of soldiers did the country a favor by sparing it a more severe devastation”

And Seymour Hersch should be pleased at his mention.

“To absolve himself of any responsibility, Nasrallah cited Seymour Hersh’s New Yorker article to argue that Israel’s war had been pre-planned and it wasn’t about the prisoners. He said Israel would have created a pretext had they not kidnapped the soldiers, through one of their spy networks in the country. “A network like the (busted) Rafe’ network could have easily fired 7 katyusha rockets onto Israel and laid the blame on Hizbullah.””

Nasrallah has no problem with UNIFIL

So where are the apologies from the Left for their failure to understand geo-political strategy?

After all isn’t this admission game-set-and-match on the issue of whether it is appropriate to use massive force in response to attacks?

    Proportionate response = failure.

    Disproportionate response = victory.

    Attack Coventry?  Fine.  Goodbye Dresden.

And if we aren’t prepared to do the same to Iran, then we deserve our dhimmitude.
