MONEY NOT IN VICINITY OF MOUTH

John Kerry is in an email frenzy. After yesterday’s mass mail-out, he now sends this:

Dear Friend,

I knew we could count on you. The powerful new TV ad I shared with you in yesterday’s email is striking a responsive chord. In just 24 hours, thousands of you have acted to help Keeping America’s Promise call dramatic attention to the needs of 11 million American children living without health insurance ...

We’re going outside of Washington—to the hometowns of people like Bill Frist, Tom DeLay, Trent Lott and Rick Santorum—asking American families to demand that those who control Congress’ agenda put Kids First.

Screw Congress; what about the Senate, Senator? Kerry is apparently worth at least $164 million. His wife is worth about $500 million. Between the pair of them, they could pay—based on the average $1,590 annual cost of Medicaid per child—the health insurance for twelve months of nearly half-a-million deprived waifs. They could even rescue 250,000 or so children and still have $330 million left over. Put Kids First!

  2. This Kerry emailing starts to make sense if you read “The vast left wing conspiracy” by Byron York.

They tried very hard to bring down President Bush via the internet, and paraphrasing York, “..and why they will try even harder next time”.

Thought provoking reading as I just started it last night.

  4. What! 11 million children without health insurance? Are they orphans? Are they homeless? Don’t they have PARENTS? Are these parents endangering the welfare of their children?

If it’s insurance they’re without, then the government should require parents to have insurance coverage for their children—just as is required for your auto. The state doesn’t supply free auto insurance to anyone—why should it spply free health insurance?

  5. Kerry must be resorting to mass e-mails because he talk with that silver spoon and both feet in his mouth.

And while I am thinking about…...isn’t a “mass e-mailing” a more polite name for spam?

  7. Most of those kids would be covered if the parents had to bring them somewhere for treatment. They’re almost all eligible, and the paper work can be done right there. On the spot.

The parents haven’t seen the need to bother doing it beforehand.

What a load of crap. The dems are trying to equate health insurance with health care in the heads of Americans.

  8. I think it’s terrible that lots of irresponsible American parents are denied their Ex Nihilo entitlement to be rewarded with enslaved doctors and enslave their fellow taxpayers.

P.S. It should be a crime to produce a child when you do not have the resources to properly care for it.

  10. RebeccaH and Richard, maybe you just don’t have the net worth to attract the notice of groups who are used to raising money from George Soros and Barbra S.

  11. The problem is you expect those millionaires to spend their own money.  All they really want to do is pose while they tell us how we have to spend our money, then they go to the big tent and pick up their prizes for donating their time.  Just don’t try to get between them and their prizes.  They will mow you down in a heartbeat.

You are just a peon and you are supposed to do what your betters tell you to do - you know, your Babs, your Susans, you Seans your Tims, your John and Teresas, your Ted Kennedys.  Without their direction you might actually think for yourself and that you must never do.
