RUMOUR MONGED

John Howard hasn’t suffered a heart attack. Not sure if he’s ever suffered a spam attack, however.

  1. I received this email late today, when it was patently as misleading as a Roy Morgan Bennelong Poll.

  2. The bastard would need to have a heart first.

  3. #2 IT.

My lefty aquaintances would say that if he did have a heart it would be black. Black and cold.

Like deep space, which can also be found in Phillip Adam’s scone.

  4. And I suppose it’s signed with one of those weird spam names, like Hector Camembert, or Godiva Philpotts, or Julia Gillard.

    Phatty:
At our little town of Gundy a tiny weir is broken open and the pitiful amount of last-resort water supplying a few homes is lost.

    ... did a belly-buster?

  7. I got it twice, and assumed it was a virus or an outbreak of wishful thinking from Ruddville.

Any bastard phishing around me had better be prepared to get a gaff through their head (and stuffed and mounted, if trophy size).

  10. Penguin, you reminded me of this hilarity.

Monty Burns: Now before we begin, let me make one thing clear for you. I want your legal advice.  I even pay for it.  But to me you’reall vipers!  You live on personal injuries, you live on divorces, you live on pain and misery!  I— Oh, but I’m rambling.  Would anyone like some coffee?

Lawyer: Yes, I would like some coffee.

Monty Burns: Want it black, don’t you? Black like your heart!

  13. I am so fed up with websites whose advertisements play sound as soon as you open the page.

I have resisted installing ad-blocking software till now, mindful that websites have to pay the bills somehow. If this intrusive practice continues however, they’re gone.

  15. I predict that the rumour will have sparked various compassionate left wing blogs to start salivating at the prospect of Howard’s demise.

  18. Just as a point of information, what happens when the PM dies?

He’ll probably lie in state for a suitable period, then be accorded a State Funeral a la Sir Winston Churchill.

Should he die while in office, the Governor-General would have to agree to a temporary PM, who serves until the Coalition elects a new Parliamentary leader, who becomes PM.

    Cheers

  20. Heart attack? The CBC is reporting that P.M. John Howard has been shot and killed! Apparently, he was at a gas station with Obama.

  22. SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM

I was in Sydney’s Chinatown on Sunday, the first day of the Lunar New Year, and amongst all the stalls set up for the occasion in Dixon Street, selling good luck trinkets and Chinese food, was a stall promoting SPAM.

  23. If Howard did suffer a heart attack, I can see Rudd proclaiming himself prime minister on the steps of parliament with the words
“No need for elections. The pollsters have spoken.”

Saw Kev on TV this morning. No idea what he was saying, I was too distracted by his mouth. It was like those Conan O’Brien sketches where a moving mouth is superimposed over a still picture of someone famous, such as the president. Weird

He of the personality bypass not showing any emotion?

    Apologies to the Bee Gees:

I have no heart, it’s just that emotions
    Won’t take me over
    Tied up in sorrows
    Lost in your polls
And if you don’t come back
    Come home to me voter
You know there’ll be nobody Left in this world to hold back the Right
Nobody Left in this world to kiss off the Right
The Right the Right the Right
    The Right
