SHOWBUZZ

Item! Which best-selling author has been spotted around town chatting with ignorant movie people? The notorious dreamboat and his cinematic colleagues are allegedly planning a documentary to be screened at the Sundance Film Festival. Arts grants authorities are warned to be on high alert.

  3. Don’t you mean dreamboat? Is Ant L. preparing to disgust us on the big screen now?

Well, you can’t say the dreamboat doesn’t dream big…

  8. I was going to goess Low-stain myself but the best selling bit threw me.

Imagine the hilarity if they put him on something like the Aussie top gear?

We need a working title for the movie any contenders?

My guess is “Im an irrelavent nobody-get me out of here.”
    Or ““Dude, wheres my chin”

  10. If it’s The Ant and his movie is as (ahem) “successful” as his book, playing to audiences all over the Newtown Community Centre, we’ll hear how it was Jewish er… Zionist control of Hollywood that stopped him winning The Oscar.

  11. I was going for Bryce, too, Srekwah.

But I think that the Dreamboat bit was a hint.

(Nearly mis-typed Dreamboast, which would also be correct… for lots of people, Adams, Lowstain name your dreamboaster!)

  12. Pog, I’ve found a herd of male shaved sheep today in the countryside.  I think when I get back I’ll post the herd, so you can select the male sheep you like. Kae, can have one if she likes. There’s so many sheep everywhere once you’re out of town.
Pog, I’d go for wayne the sheep, he looks handsome, and I don’t mind curlymoo either.  He’s photograph 4. If any of the female blairites would like a New Zealand male sheep let me know. ty I have not found any alpaca’s yet.

Swinish, I don’t think a drag queen would wear CK boys knickers with lace.lol

Ant “....recently traveled to Cuba, Egypt, Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia and China to meet with bloggers.”
No faux carbon guilt there. He could have emailed them.
As a result of death threats and suchlike, Ant has changed tack and now wants to take on something more tame like repressive regimes. Check that list!
He has abandoned the mainstream media, and embraces blogs and bloggers. Perhaps a few death threats from Raoul, Hozny, Ahmagonajihad and the rest of those good ol’ boys will change his thinking again.

Iran is probably the most demonised nation on the planet at the moment.
Why, hardly a day goes by when there isn’t some mass protest with plenty of giant Ahmadinnerjacket papier maché heads and lots of old timey Iranian flag burning.

I have seriously entertained the idea of holding a Trivia night based around the Ant’s preposterous book and behaviour.

    Should be a pisser.

Question 1: What gender, is Israeli Minister, Tzipi Livni? (answer)

Question 2: Does Israel have “Jews only roads”? Or “Israeli only roads” for use by Israeli Arabs, Christians and other minorities as well as Israeli Jews. If you get the answer wrong, you can still get half points by accusing the trivia night adjudicator of Zionist treachery.

Question 3: Name the number of media outlets, including Jewish run, which have given Antony Loewenstein space. For bonus points, name the number of times he has claimed to have been silenced for his views.

Reference: Australians who Reject Antony Loewenstein

Best-selling author Antony Loewenstein has sold only 5987 copies of his painful book… (11/30/06)

Yeah, that’s my first guess—unless Margo’s No Thappy John counts as a “best seller.”

Golly, Dan, you mean they censored it? Who’da thunk it!

It was good, but what was cut?

  37. #36

No. To be fair, it wasn’t censorship. Presumably they edited it to save space. The guts of it was certainly there. As you asked however, the original submitted version is below. I’ve added a couple of links for context.

The discussion about the proposed Islamic College in Camden is predictable. Particularly, that most of the opposition is being branded as “racist” or “fear of the unknown”. However, like it or not, there have been significant problems with Islamic institutions in Australia not reflected in any other religious institution.

These included foreign Imams inciting hatred against non-Muslim groups, such as at Werribee Islamic College in 2005 where a “visiting” Imam told students that the Jews were putting poison in bananas. It is also no secret what students are taught about non-Muslims in ‘Madrassas’ and Islamic schools worldwide.

Unfortunately, Camden’s local council cannot consider the threat of Jihadism as a reasonable grounds to deny a development application, so perhaps people are trying it on, citing traffic concerns.

However, to the benefit of the Muslim applicants, this is all a useful distraction from serious questions which need to be asked - and aren’t being asked.

For example, will any money, now or in the future, originate from Saudi Arabia and will non-Australian Imams be permitted to teach (and incite) at the college? If so, this is a disaster in the making that won’t be easily undone. Ask London. That a few Muslims students got good HSC results, or that “most Muslims” condemn violence, doesn’t change that.
