‘Bomber’ Beazley has made his usual over inflated, irrelevant contribution to a serious problem by astutely managing to blame Howard for not doing enough to deter Terrorists whilst saying nothing about the potential perpetrators and trying (along with the greens and dems) to water down every bit of lesiglation to identify and detain terrorist nutcases in the Parliament…
He was speaking in relation to this new threat from the of the Asian Muslim Youth Movement, who has warned that thousands of jihadis were preparing to join the resistance against Israel and die as “martyrs” and that they will be sending suicide bombers to attack jewish interests globally. Don’t think he has told us what he would do differently though, apart from his off repeated cracking Coast Guard idea…
Incidentally I know pre-emtive strikes against rising threats in our “friendly” neighbours to the North are somewhat out of vogue, even when the governments seem to be doing nothing to respond to them, but when i read the following

I can’t help thinking that a C17 flying over Pontianak and dropping a couple of daisy cutters out the back might not be such a bad move??? and could go a long way to solving this problem with a minimum of fuss…. although undoubtedly ‘Bomber’ Beazley would inflate himself to unheard of proportions in condemnation of it…

Serious question for someone in the know: are female Israeli soldiers actually used in front-line combat situations? I thought I read somewhere, several years ago, that the practice had been halted, because the enemy aimed at capturing and torturing them as a morale buster for the other IDF troops, as well as an incitement to precipitous, and therefore possibly costly, rescue actions by the IDF.
