VIOLENCE OPPOSED
Reuters reports:
Palestinians attend a demonstration against violence in Gaza April 23, 2007
Well, they’re all armed so they must be quite polite.

I wonder if this guy is anti-American too?
That’d be double irony.

It’s not uncommon to meet Arabs who in one breath denounce the US as the Great Satan, and in the next, express the desire to live and work there.
The Arab world’s relationship to the US is similar to that of a 14 year old boy who’s obsessed with an older woman: he wants her but he can’t have her, so in his opinion she’s an arrogant bitch and slut.

No contradiction at all. The problem being they want the trappings of the west; cars, women, booze, nightclubs, loud music, nike, gucci etc, but they reject what makes it possible. The rule of law, respect for the person and society, and a free society.
The walls of the detention centre at port Hedland were plastered with all these ads brought to you via a secular, peaceful sociey, but many of those desiring them had little concept of what got you them.
I remember taking a bloke on a shopping trip to a K-mart at PH, he was disgusted by “all clothes made in China-shit!!” and wanted to know where he could get gucci and Boss clothing.
I took him to a smaller shop where they had good quality gear and he had a conniption when he saw the prices. He then loudly informed the owners they were theives and he could get “gucci” gear back in iran for “5-10 dollars”.
It is hard to parody the extreme dellusions inherent in much of the middle east. A lust for goods combined with a poor respect for the slow job of accumulating wealth is a problem./off my soapbox…

It’s not hard, it’s impossible. Monty Python had nothing on these fuckers.
I still cannot get over the fact that millions of them can simultaneously maintain that the USA got what it deserved on 9/11, yet orchestrated the attacks…
Everyone knows one cannot protest against violence without God’s Kalashnikov.

The Koran is rife with Orwellian doublethink; they’re only practicing what they’ve been taught all their lives.

I think there are certain points during the chant/march where everyone fires off a few rounds in unison.

I have never understood why they consider stealing to be such a serious offense that it is punished by amputation, yet they see nothing wrong with piracy or banditry.
Ummm . . . considering how Big Mo made his living, outlawing organized banditry would be a bit embarassing (heh!) and run counter to the tradition of Islam. The threat of amputation for thievery was intended to keep his own followers in line. However, good Muslim is free to take what he wishes from the infidel.

So much for a peaceful demonstration.

At Bulimba some time ago there was a, SHOCK HORROR, radioactive leak.
Now, after the big meeja beat up, we hear that it was a substance used in gun sights, etc.
Madonna King is beating it up, too. There was a minister on the radio and he laughed at her suggestions that it was dangerous and why weren’t the residents told.
Now we’ve just had an ex-miliary chap who phoned in and explained that this wasn’t dangerous at all, it probably happened about twice a year at Moorebank, where he worked on gun sights, etc. They are tiny vials of the substance and were occasionally dropped.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAArgh. God save us from panic merchants…
There was a fire in a mattress store house up here the other day. Mass hysteria prevailed for a while; the roof was made of some sort of asbestos cement substance. People were cautioned to keep windows closed and turn off aircon and stay inside at the height of the blaze.
If you think the Palestinians are bad, you should see this photo gallery of far-left Israeli peace protesters.
One of those women had a very scary looking handbag indeed!
OT but on topic of dodgy journalism
AAP is reporting that Japanese people have been caught up in a sheep for poodles scam.
I may yet be proved wrong, but my bullshitometer is currently standing at 11 on this one.

OR the majority in the Capitol? I’ll try though..
We have now seen Murtha’s ‘Over the Horizon’
M-E ‘Defense’ policy morph into Reid-Pelosi’s ‘Over the Rainbow Policy’.You can cast Murtha as the Cowardly Lion and
Reid as the Straw-headed Man. Pelosi is .. obvious.Tin Man -the Whole Democratic Congress?
NOW, all together, SING!
“OOOvver the Rainboooww.. Why then Oh, WHY can’t I..I..I?”
#64, the staff cuts at Fairfax have already begun.

Margos (#58) has been caught red pawed ripping off Kae’s (#48) off-topic rip-off.
No, No. It’s more of a repetitive stunned reaction. Margos would not do such a thing. It is incomprehensible to think that ANYONE could believe a lamb, is a dog.
What in God’s name is next, fraud for a Sea Horse not winning the Kentucky Derby?
The “red pawed” is damn sharp though…:).
Marching through the streets of central Tel-Aviv. “Stop Killing Civilians”, “Exhanging Prisoners is Better than Digging Graves”
That would have to be the most dubious proposition I have ever read on a placard in a peace demonstration. Especially after considering some of the prisoners are being held by Hezbollah.

“Exchanging Prisoners is Better than Digging Graves”
Heh. I guess if one isn’t personally doing either, it’s about the same.
Given my druthers, I’d be pushing the idiot stick, not stuck in a room with heavily-armed nutters who wish me dead.
Still, I have to respect a man who brings an RPG to a peace rally. I imagine the aging hippies who usually haunt the Capitol with their little protest signs here in Taxahassee (all 7 of them) wouldn’t like that. But neither would FDLE. And FDLE has more guns. Maybe I could get a permit for that…

My local watering hole has a “NO DOGS” policy, yet on several occasions after getting fuller than a fat chick’s shoe, I have made acquaintance with both hounds and foxes. What this has to do with the sheep/poodle diplomatic incident, I know not.

*Only if the fish in question is part of a performing animal troupe and is utterly reliant on its bicycle to show the other performers just how butch, capable and virile it is. And the bicycle can always be packed with semtex and left outside the clamshell where all those gefilte fish hang out, plotting to infect all the other fish with white spot and eat their caviar.
Seems that someone from News Ltd has been reading this blog.
