WAR OF THE WARNES
Simone Warne bowled out; Shane Warne bowls Australia to victory.
It was beautiful to watch(the cricket that is)and almost as good as Warne’s bowling was listening to Tony Greig bleating about the light, what a pissant that clown is.I wonder if he knew that the Foxsport broadcast was being shown in Australia. When he commentates for Channel 9 in Australia he at least attempts to provide some semblance of balance.Maybe he’s planning to migrate back to his beloved South Africa,he’d certainly be no loss to Australia.
#1. What a score Queensland got (900 or something). Strewth.
Yes Major. And an outright win as well. Hope the writers in Tuesday’s Melbourne papers choke on that having accused Jimmy Maher of just chasing batting records.
And he got a record too. The biggest win in the history of the Shield competition. And Victoria set a record too. THE BIGGEST LOSS.

Apart from a few exceptions, the 9 commentators are ratshit. The only reason Greig can be there is the World Series Cricket debt K Packer owed him.
How anyone….......can bear to…...................put up with ........................Simon….....O’Donnell….....................is beyond me.
And where did this pommy Nicholas fellow blow in from. At best I suppose it is some recognition that the locals just aren’t up to it.
What I can’t understand is that 9 doesn’t grasp the fact that ratings would jump if a few of the tired old crew were pushed.

Posted by Matthew Lawrence on 2006 03 28 at 08:46 PM • permalinkI reckon Channel 9 should get more out of Peter Stirling and put him on the cricket in place of Bill Lawry.
He played rep cricket as a junior so knows the came well and is very quick and clear with his analysis of football which I think he could easily transpose to the cricket.
He is the best sports commentator going around.
But amortiser - sterlo’s from (gasp) Sydney. What would Eddie Everywhere say about that!
Bring back the Moose, I say! Sports broadcaster Rex ‘Moose’ Mossop famously announced that he was…
‘sick and tired of having male and female genitals shoved down his throat!’
(in relation to nude bathers near his house)

Yes mate I have the ABC sound on too. It’s good too in that 9 digital is about 1/2 second or so behind the ABC so you hear it on the radio & have time to turn to see the vision. I do the same with the League when TV and radio coincide.
Sterling would be better than any of them in any sport. He’s knowledgeable, rational and CALM. But he seems to be now often replaced by Gould. Christ! What is Gould on? And is he up himself or what? They’ll have Gould on the cricket commentary team next.
And what about the Nine C’Wealth Games performance. I was partly cringing in embarrassment and partly shitty we had next to nothing in the way of interviews with O/S medal winners. And Sutcliffe’s little chuckles about Eastlake’s weightlifting commentary. Jeez. Don’t they know how plain bad he is.
And Eddie E gets shitty that people criticise. Boy, it’s going to be a steep learning curve Eddie.

Who’s Gary Harley?

It’s a strange B grade celebrity world we live in when the estranged wife of a cricketer becomes famous just for being the estranged wife of a cricketer.
What a score Queensland got (900 or something). Strewth.
